چکیده
Abstract CH⋅⋅⋅O hydrogen bonds (HBs) are ubiquituous in silica zeolite crystals hosting cationic Organic Structure Directing agents (OSDAs). This new finding is notably supported by a correlation between experimental C−O distances and COSi angles’ distributions of two series 19 11 available structures. The enables to asses the directionality CH…O intermolecular interactions extrapolate geometrical model for bonded moeities. DFT−D3 calculations on representative structures further confirmed presence these HBs their geometry basis H−O distances, CHO angles electron density. reported insights demonstrate also particularities terms charge distribution electrostatic potentials. Further, multiple bonding evidenced OSDAs zeolites’ channels cages, opening perspectives study zeolite‐OSDA host‐guest interactions.

Competing Intramolecular vs. Intermolecular Hydrogen Bonds in Solution
A hydrogen bond for a local-minimum-energy structure can be identified according to the definition of the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC recommendation 2011) or by finding a special bond critical point on the density map of the structure in the framework of the atoms-in-molecules theory. Nonetheless, a given structural conformation may be simply favored by electrostati...
متن کاملZeolite-templated carbon materials for high-pressure hydrogen storage.
Zeolite-templated carbon (ZTC) materials were synthesized, characterized, and evaluated as potential hydrogen storage materials between 77 and 298 K up to 30 MPa. Successful synthesis of high template fidelity ZTCs was confirmed by X-ray diffraction and nitrogen adsorption at 77 K; BET surface areas up to ~3600 m(2) g(-1) were achieved. Equilibrium hydrogen adsorption capacity in ZTCs is higher...
متن کاملIntermolecular contrast in atomic force microscopy images without intermolecular bonds.
Intermolecular features in atomic force microscopy images of organic molecules have been ascribed to intermolecular bonds. A recent theoretical study [P. Hapala et al., Phys. Rev. B 90, 085421 (2014)] showed that these features can also be explained by the flexibility of molecule-terminated tips. We probe this effect by carrying out atomic force microscopy experiments on a model system that con...
متن کاملPhosphorescence quantum yield enhanced by intermolecular hydrogen bonds in Cu4I4 clusters in the solid state.
Organo-copper(i) halide complexes with a Cu4I4 cubane core and cyclic amines as ligands have been synthesized and their crystal structures have been defined. Their solid state photophysical properties have been measured and correlated with the crystal structure and packing. A unique and remarkably high luminescence quantum yield (76%) has been measured for one of the complexes having the cubane...
متن کاملIntermolecular atom–atom bonds in crystals?1
The concept of interatomic bonds with more or less characteristic internuclear bond distances and bond energies is firmly established in molecular chemistry. The transfer of this concept to the world of intermolecular arrangements in crystals is appealing and has come into wide usage in discussions of actual and possible crystal structures. However, there are circumstances that render such a tr...
